100% Remote Direct Hire- Business Information Data Architect W/GCP

General Summary:

  • As the Business Information Architect, you’ll work to optimize data feeds and enable self-service data to drive the Data & Analytics strategy across the business.
  • This position holds responsibility for the development and implementation of the information architecture to support the measuring and monitoring of enterprise business needs.
  • Maintains the design around the full set of Enterprise information capabilities that support existing and strategic business capabilities.
  • You’ll be working with data feeds and reporting pipelines supporting multiple product lines, making them available to leaders across the company.
  • You will be responsible for creating strategic roadmaps for individual data feeds and generating specific requirements for the Data Engineering team to address defects and optimization of data consumption.
  • You’ll own enablement of core data feeds and designing their Data Warehouse integrations.
  • The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy strong communicator who understands how to make data understandable by everyone.
  • This role includes regular opportunities to partner closely with stakeholders across domains and at all levels.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Have oversight over our data warehouse environment, ensuring it’s effective, organized, and well-implemented.
  • Work with IT Data Engineering partners to construct and implement architectural data solutions
  • Build business ready data models and supporting complex SQL queries
  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Demonstrates mastery of information architecture tools to include data catalogs and creating entity relationship diagrams
  • Applies advanced knowledge to perform regular assessments of the health and maturity of information capabilities for a given domain.
  • Applies advanced knowledge to identify new information capabilities needed to support business capabilities of a given business domain and recommends solutions.
  • Applies knowledge to reference models to information architecture; displays knowledge/understanding of reference models to articulate business information requirements.
  • Provides key contributions toward the creation and maintenance of a conceptual model for information capabilities for a given domain.
  • Develops artifacts to include statements of direction, logic models, decision matrices, information capabilities, information categories, business entities, and conceptual models.
  • Educates other practitioners on the value and practice of data and anlytics; develops and nurtures healthy peer and mentee relationships; develops effective models to convey moderately complex concepts.
  • Collaborates with other architectural disciplines to influence information architecture direction, technical and data design decisions.
  • Identifies and recommends appropriate data sources to be used in solution development and delivery.
  • Encourage internal adoption and self-sufficiency of Stakeholders on the Looker platform, including training users and making data feeds easy to use.
  • Help leaders enable pipelines into their processes and applications
  • Work across a wide variety of verticals
  • Train developers and end users on platform best practices
  • Own data tools, pipelines, and cataloging to ensure consistent availability and accuracy of data.
  • Develop requirements for building and maintaining datasets that will represent the source of truth for our key metrics.
  • Identify and assist in addressing data quality issues.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (Python)
  • Drive self-service and data literacy for business users on our data platform by creating and documenting data structures and sets, SQL and data tools training, and dashboard development

Job Specifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or Applied Statistics

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, including writing and optimizing queries
  • Python and the Data Science Stack (Pandas, Matplotlib, etc)
  • Strong skills with multiple database technologies
  • Superb organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Experience effectively presenting insights and summarizing complex data to diverse audiences through visualizations and other means
  • Highly proficient PC skills including MS Office
  • Must be able to plan and monitor activities according to priorities
  • Ability to work independently within the scope of responsibilities for the position and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand, tackle, and solve problems from both technical and business perspectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels on both technical and business issues
  • Desire to learn and grow your knowledge of the data domain
  • Ability to document your work and enable teammates
