IT Software Developer Technical Lead

Carlsbad, CA
Our direct client is looking to bring on a Software Development Lead on a 3 to 6 CONTRACT ROLE.  (Strong potential to convert to full time)
  • Monday-Friday (40-hour work week)
  • Client HQ is in San Diego, CA - however, this can be 100% Remote. 
  • 3 to 6 months contract (potential to go full time)
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
  • Owns the architecture and all architecture decisions within the global client custom software apps
  • Designs architectures within the .NET and Azure platforms adhering to best practices to support project requirements.
  • Provides leadership and IT solutions for complex problems involving cloud portfolio.   
  • Designs and builds new software solutions, resulting from IT alignment with business strategy.
  • Leads technical discussions and provides technical guidance and expertise for .NET and Azure.
  • Drives technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  • Follows established cloud processes and technology standards on the Azure and .NET stacks to ensure the environment is completely secured, properly monitored, and optimally sized and performing.
  • Performs review of requirement specification and is responsible for technical designs.
Follow release management and source code management processes.
  • Works with business, IT users, and stakeholders to refine user stories and business requirements.
  • Designs and proposes efficient and cost-effective Azure infrastructure necessary to support implementations.
  • Resolves and assists with resolution of production issues within established SLAs
  • Manages cloud cost and proactively monitors usage to ensure environment performs within previously established budget; develops estimates based on existing requirements; forecasts future cost based on new demand.
  • Utilizes JIRA Agile Scrum methodology.
  • As necessary, oversees and manages external consultants related to development, and collaborate with off-site support teams
  • Acts as the point of contact between Client headquarters, IT teams in our core markets, and business teams.
  • Identifies applicable new technologies through research, collaboration with peers, and participation in standards organizations, industry groups, panels, etc.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Proven technical expertise and leadership in the Microsoft Azure cloud space, including design and delivery.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
  • Hands-on development across entire .NET and Azure technical stacks, includes but not limited to front-end, middle tier and back end development on  C#, MVC,.Net 4.6, ASP.net (Web Services), AngularJS 1&4, WebAPI REST, Azure, OData, etc.
  • Proficient in programming languages, such as JavaNode.jsPHPPythonRuby on Rails, etc.
  • Ability to design and build REST web services on the .NET platform.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps pipelines to manage multiple environments and releases
  • Experience utilizing JIRA Agile tools and working in an Agile environment.
  • Financial acumen to forecast and manage project and overall cloud usage cost
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams
  • Communicate clearly and particular attention to details
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users

Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in related field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics 
  • 3+ years’ experience architecting software solutions and cloud applications development in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment
    • 4+ years’ experience as hands-on software development lead responsible for deployment governance, security auditing, best practices adherence and technology evolution
    • 7+ years’ experience in the .NET/C# development and the technology stack, e.g., C#, .NET Core, REST API, WebAPI and MVC
    • 5+ years’ experience utilizing relational databases, e.g. Azure SQL, SQL Server, and Oracle
    • 3+ years’ experience with AngularJS and JSON
    • 3+ years’ experience with cloud integration technologies for on-premise to cloud and cloud-to-cloud integrations
  • Experience with MS Dynamics CRM is highly desirable
  • Experience with AWS is desirable
